National curriculum · England & Wales

Nothing in science makes sense on its own. So we stacked it.

Every topic from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5, written for the student who has to read it. Each page knows what you need to understand it — and offers to check before you start.

How the stages stack

hover a stage

Read from the bottom up. Each stage assumes the ones beneath it — which is why a Key Stage 4 page can quietly fall apart if a Key Stage 3 idea never landed.

Start here

Pick a key stage

Colours stay with you across the site — a green page is always Key Stage 3, wherever you land. Earlier stages have fewer, shorter pages, because that is how the curriculum is taught.

Two ways through every page

Read it, or learn it

Same content, different route in. Students choose at the top of each page.

Read

Straight to the text. For revision, for looking something up, for a teacher pulling a diagram up on the board.

  1. Open the page
  2. Read, with play buttons on every section
  3. Leave whenever you like

Learn

The longer road, and the one that sticks. The page checks the groundwork before it teaches you anything new.

  1. Quick test on the earlier stages this page assumes
  2. Feedback on anything you got wrong, with links back
  3. Then the text, section by section
  4. A closing test on what you have just read
  5. Badge earned — the page is marked complete

Built for every reader

Accessibility is in the furniture, not bolted on afterwards.

  1. Three text sizes, remembered between visits
  2. High contrast mode
  3. Play button on every section of text
  4. Full keyboard navigation and screen reader labels

Collect a stage

Every completed page adds to its specialism. Finish all of them and the badge fills in.
